When people speak about the “dependency graph” or the “object graph”, they are not usually referring to some graphical illustration showing the objects, but to the mathematical concept of a directed graph (from Graph Theory) where each vertex is an object, and there is an arc going from object A to object B if A holds a reference to B.

I am avoiding talking about “graphs” completely in this series, since I don’t think they add much to the presentation. I just included this term here because many people use it, including the official user guide.
