Code Of Conflict
Teams with no disagreements are teams in stagnation. Fearless teams will sure have conflicts and disagreements, and it is important to solve them fast. Those conflicts may become emotional, and it’s OK, especially if our work is driven from passion. When you are getting emotional go home, rest (stay away from your email account), on the next day act to to solve the disagreement. Here are some guidelines I follow:
- You Know Nothing.
- Listen to the other side.
- Learn the background.
- Understand the other side visibility, context, interests.
- Made a mistake? Admit, apologize.
- Made a Promise? Commit.
- Confident? Explain.
- Be honest. Be sensitive. Be polite.
