Celebrating 400 Followers on Instagram

Every accomplishment big or small is worth celebrating!

Instagram is my most beloved social media platform. I am a creative, visual person and it allows me to express that. It’s also challenging. Turns out it’s not just about pretty pictures. Instagram is a very raw representation of people and their work. It’s so wonderfully human, and that’s why I am drawn to it. As a service provider it has been a hard nut to crack. It has forced me to do A LOT of soul-searching and branding work to figure out how I want to represent Iterate (and myself) on Instagram. Getting to 400 followers has been loaded with so much personal work, so many struggles, and lots of successes. That is why I don’t want to wait for 500 followers to celebrate. 400 is an awesome number and I want to celebrate it in this moment.

Starting my own business has been one of the most challenging things I have done. I feel like I am back in the boxing ring (Fun fact: I used to box) and a left hook is coming at my face. All I can do some days is tell myself to bob and weave, bob and weave. These punches are my own self-doubt, and I am my worst client. I am trying to change that, so I write this post as a celebration of who I am, the spirit of my business, and the next iteration I am facing. I am taking this moment to reflect on how far I have come, how many small iterations I have gone through, and how much focus I have going forward. I am stopping to appreciate that I am building a business I truly believe in and I am building relationships that I cherish. I am celebrating the fact that I have helped a local restaurant raise over $45k, I have been featured on The Daily Dot, tweeted by Medium, I have been called an industry leader, my writing has inspired people, I have made people laugh, I have pissed some off, and I have been me along the way. Most importantly I have made so many new friends!

I want to celebrate you and celebrate me! So here I am, screaming from the rooftops, I have 400 followers on Instagram and I am building something great! I have so much more focus and drive than I had 2 months ago. I have so much to offer the social media community it’s crazy.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You all make my day everyday! I can’t wait to meet my future followers and clients! I know they will be awesome like you.

Always stay true to who you are and celebrate the small victories. After all, they aren’t that small. When you put them all together they add up to something huge! Something great! Keep on being brave, honest, and always keep iterating.
