It’s a long battle and need to be fought at every level of the society.
First and foremost , I believe both girls and boys need to be educated. In India , education is still not good, specially in rural and poor villages.
And when it comes to saving money , first thing they do is stop sending kids to school. If they can afford one child , it will also ways be the boy who will be chosen to go to school.

There are mid day meals kind of schemes by govt but the execution is not up to the mark.

At the least , we can talk about it to raise awareness.
