The first ever public hackathon to be held in Maldives is going on at the moment in Male’ City Hall and about 40 developers are busy coding their apps. Meanwhile free drinks and Redbull are also available on the spot.

After 24 hrs of coding the participants will present their projects/apps on 5 April at 3 pm. Top three winners will receive cash prizes and a special cash prize will be awarded for the best application build by competitors under 21 and for the best application build by a female competitor.

This is the first of many events to be held by Kickstart, a group of young enthusiastic Maldivian developers who are organizing the event.
