Fragment #2

The length of my absence

May not be as great

But this journey enlongates

My distance from home

And my proximity to freedom.

But what it also does,

Lamentably enough,

Is take me away from you

A little too soon

And I feel dragged away from paradise,

As my listless and

Unwilling body and mind

Stumble over memories

And the rubble of

The unsteady earth.

Where I am, now, is a limbo

Neither too close to you

Nor close enough to home

And yet,

Never really distant enough from either.

And I can’t tell any more

Which is which.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
