Art is something that applies creative skill and imagination, and can be shown in many forms to express the message of the piece itself. It has developed over the millennia of time, becoming one of the best ways to communicate with the world. Present day, many forms of art can be expressed digitally and without losing its magic touch. Graphic design is used everywhere people go. From that stop sign you see as you ride down your street to work, to that mermaid logo you see on your morning coffee you bought, the recycle sign you see on the trash bin, and so much more. People are subconsciously living in a world filled with graphics that you somehow know what they are for, what they mean, and why they continue to be there.

Then there are other forms of graphic design that teach you to better yourself, to stay healthy, and to better others; subconsciously. As we live in this world full of these graphics, I begin to understand that this is something that should be known to everyone. The more you notice, the more curious you get. I invite you to think about the graphic being used, and question why. Every design has a message, and everyday we pass this message to those after us, and so on.

Hello Class, in my presentation I would like to address the importance of communication in graphic design. However, to learn what communication really is, I have assigned these two videos with the following questions:

Watch this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKorP55Aqvg

What is going on in this video? What is there a true lack of when the engineer suggests ideas that the others don’t understand or deny? How do you relate to this video?

Now watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCfzeONu3Mo

What is going on in this video? What is your understanding of communication and miscommunication ? What forms of communication might be useful to you?

Please make a blog post on medium, and share your link here, as I will hold a Q&A in my presentation.

Thanks for reading, hope to hear some great answers in class!
