Nepal is a country that spans 800 km of the central Himalayas, jagged with the highest and the loftiest peaks including Mt Everest. Its territory rises from as low as 70 m above the sea to Mt Everest at the top of the world within the width of 200 km. This geological formation not only made Nepal ecologically diverse but also nourished ethnic and cultural diversity. The tropical forest of the south appears as lawn to the layers of mountains with snow peaks in the backdrop. Some trans-Himalayan regions like Dolpo, Mustang and Manang adds extra flavor to country’s diversity.

The southern tropical forests are reminiscence of huge jungle that once spread from north of Ganges till the Himalayas foothills. Some last numbers of endangered species like Royal Bengal Tiger and Asian Single horned rhinos are being preserved in their last habitat. Many of these jungle provide safari activities to observe wildlife and their habitats.
Chitwan and Bardia are two national parks which have been successfully preserving its native flora and fauna. Chitwan national park got its status as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. Because of easy access from the two major cities Kathmandu and Pokhara, Chitwan national park is the most popular jungle safari destination. Bardia National park on the other hand is visited by fewer tourists making it more pristine.

Layers of hills raising like a giant steps are cut deep by glacial rivers twisting and turning down the slopes. Hilltops are often scenic with view far reaching view of valleys and mountain ranges with Himalayan backdrop. This makes Himalayan foothills a paradise for trekking, rafting and just relaxation amid tranquility and simplicity. There are many scenic hill station towns that provides you activities like village tour, sunrise and sunset view and hikes. One can plan a pleasant White water rafting with camping in a pristine beaches or get the deeper insight of countryside lifestyle staying in a comfortable resort in the scenic hill station.

Similarly Himalayas have been a place of great place of serenity and spirituality for thousands of years. In the citadel of daunting peaks, some of the ancient and rare spirituality was practiced without disturbances until recently. Eight out of 10 highest mountains make the Nepalese Himalayas. The Himalayan hidden valleys, high pastures and the salt trading routes crossing high passes make Nepal popular trekking and climbing destination.
Nepalese Himalayas have got trekking for everyone from beginners to more ambitious adventurers. Short and easy treks in Annapurna and Everest region could be planned based on luxury lodges. For those who don’t mind roughing up a bit, it is possible to trek longer and higher staying in teahouses run by locals.
There are also other ways of sightseeing and experiencing Himalayas. With the extension of air strips and road, one can simply drive or fly to most surreal places in the Himalayas.
The fixed wing Everest sightseeing flight is the most popular way of seeing Mt Everest and the Himalayas if you are not trekking.
Some people even charter Helicopter to go on a short and quick excursion of base camps and high Himalayan valleys.
