Equality — The New Publication
A simple thought gives rise to a thought process. That thought process produces the rubbish blogs I write. And now some of those rubbish blogs will be a publication. (Yes, you can leave already.)
All these past years, there is one topic that hasn’t found the right way out of my head. And, recently enough a detailed conversation ignited the fire about it. The topic is Equality. (It is NOT a one-blogpost kind of topic. Trust me, I’ve tried and failed well.)
I wouldn’t call myself a feminist or a meninist or a transgenderist because I don’t understand any of those terms well enough. Neither do I want to. Equality is more than enough to break my head around. I don’t even want to be labeled in any way. I’m just trying to put my opinions “out there” on equality and its condition today. Some might be brilliant, some downright stupid. I don’t care. And I will continue not to.
If you agree, I’d appreciate if you spread the word. (Because, why not?) If you disagree, you have two options. Give me something better or ignore me. This world is free to produce all types of bullshit and I’m going to add mine shamelessly. If you can give me something better, we might just be two people growing intellectually. If your disagreement is based on your incomplete personal knowledge and isn’t open to negotiation, it would be a better decision to ignore me completely. Because let’s be real, ain’t nobody got time for an online conundrum. (If you can’t seem to ignore me then I shall. I’m a seasoned lad at that.)
For those of you who are wondering why I’m doing this, I’d like to quote Sarah Kay:
There are plenty of things I have trouble understanding. So I write poems to figure things out. Sometimes the only way I know how to work through something is by writing a poem. Sometimes I get to the end of the poem, look back and go, “Oh, that’s what this is all about,” and sometimes I get to the end of the poem and haven’t solved anything, but at least I have a new poem out of it.
If you still haven’t understood, here’s my version:
There are plenty of things I have trouble understanding. So I write blogs to figure things out. Sometimes the only way I know how to work through something is by writing. Sometimes I get to the end of the blog, look back and go, “Oh, that’s what this is all about,” and sometimes I get to the end of the blog and haven’t solved anything, but at least I have a new blog out of it. An added reason is I’m not as lazy as I used to be. Also, I’m probably tired of talking to myself about it.
Before I blabber more, a little something about the publication.
Name: “Let’s be fair to Equality.” (See what I did there?)
It will include nothing but practical examples of equality. May be, my added solutions to them. May be not. I don’t know. Something I know is it will revolve around equality. I plan to write in the simplest of languages while keeping it real. No sugar coating. Enjoy! (or may be, just start thinking more for a change?)
UPDATE: The publication no longer exists. I couldn’t keep up with it. If you want to read the posts put up there, please visit Harshita’s Hood.
