After the ban situation of Huawei in the US, they decided to announced it’s own in-house Operating System which could potentially replace Android in all of Huawei devices. But what happened with the Hongmeng OS or Harmony OS and, Today we also what is the origin and main points of Huawei Hongmeng OS or you can also called Harmony OS.

Hongmeng OS

In China they’re calling it Hongmeng OS, and for global market it is called as Harmony OS. The Harmony OS is based on micro-kernel just like Google’s Fuchsia OS which makes it future proof. Since, back in 9th August 2019, the CEO of Huawei in his presentation said that, the Android isn’t as efficient, they claimed that the Harmony OS is both faster and more secure than Android. Right now, Huawei is using this OS for IoT devices such as Smart TV, Wearables, Smart Speakers and more.

But the CEO also mentioned that they’ll deploy the Harmony OS in their smartphones at any time if they can no longer be able to use Android OS. Huawei is making it an open-source platform just like Android, so that means any smartphone company can use the OS without paying any licensing fees, which is huge. Also, Huawei says that all the Android apps will be compatible with this operating system which is something that Google should be really worried about. Listen, ever since Android and iOS rose to dominance in the world of operating systems, two major companies tried to break the monopoly of Android and iOS by being the third major smartphone operating system.
