Her prayers

lost the will to fly through thick clouds

That rain apathy without ceasing.

Indifference

Crashes on wings like hail stones,

Breaking bones,

Screaming theres no hope,

The air cannot carry us no more.

Her sun doesn’t make it till Monday…

Dark days descend drowning

Dreams declared during deacons.

Deceiving sermon.

Wednesday stops believing

Money can buy gods favour;

Tears sacrificed as burnt offerings

Only yield broken promises

By friday her faith becomes an atheist

She cannot believe Adam

Was made in the likeness of her father

Absent

“All men are the same”

she proclaimed

Absent they remain

Absent they will be

They plant lies on the horizon line

Covering them up with sunset sky

But in time

Truth will rise

Sending their deceit to perdition

Now realise

The lesson in disguise is this

Don’t fall for a man

Who promises a heaven

he’s never been to

Don’t let him

Enter your garden taste your fruits

Without first building you Eden

Remember he is only human

Don’t deify his words

Let actions reveal the man in him
