Technology has always led to disruption and confusion during the early stages of adoption. It started with the development of the railroads in the late 19th century. Since then technology has been exponentially growing and is hard to comprehend for people who are still understanding it and don’t keep up with the pace (Like us). While the convenience offered by technology keeps on increasing, this convenience needs to be looked at as a means to help us solve a lot of problems that our previous generations considered impossible to solve. And I guess humans will evolve or the technology will correct itself to overcome the evils you are talking about that are presented to early adopters. Like Kurzweil said, one skill we need to develop is to be able to model and understand the exponential rate of growth and plan accordingly.
Convenience killed planet earth.
