Another Dylan fan? Hi there! I think he is an amazing poet. His lyrics from the 60s and 70s and 80s totally apply even today, still. ( ohh , I used the word “apply” without thinking ! Please do not confuse it with the meaning you had in mind when you spoke of applied writing! )

I guess that is what “timeless” means. And not only that. Just that talent Dylan has to project a whole life and its tragedy or … well whatever he sang about …just in a few verses! example that comes to mind : “Like a Rolling stone” , your “Balad of a Thin Man” “Shelter From the Storm” and numberless others. I love the soundtrack for Pat Garret & Billy the Kid”… But at different times I have different favorites among his songs…

About “applied writing”… I don’t know. I don’t read much of that. Except for my study days. The again, cultural anthropology which I had studied way back — that also, I wouldn’t call “applied writing”. No “how to”s in there…
