The newest craze over the past few weeks on social media has been the #DriveByDunkChallenge, where individuals are seen driving around a neighborhood and stopping at a random home where a basketball hoop is present. Running out, throwing down a slam dunk, getting back in their car and continuing this process. It’s taken off to the point that NBA players De’Aaron Fox and All-Star Anthony Davis have also taken part.

But how can we take a trendy moment and apply it to our business? A local real estate agent could highlight a neighborhood while also providing entertaining content. A food chain or restaurant could set up a hoop outside their locations within a certain area or region as a way to market.

Whatever the idea may be, the #DriveByDunkChallenge can be placed in a similar category to that of the Harlem Shake, Ice Bucket Challenge and other video driven campaigns. The key is to strike while the iron is hot before these video become over saturated on your Instagram and Facebook feeds.
