
Product management is a leadership function, and the potential impact of a PMs is a function of the amount of trust they have developed with people internally. The more trust they have, the more capable they are of moving mountains inside a company, and galvanizing large groups of people to get shit done. That is their firepower, and it’s worth a lot.
Respect is so easily lost, and so hard to build up again. We have a strong engineering culture, and to be blunt, we don’t suffer fools lightly. If the PM seems manipulative, waffling, or unsure … the teams pounce.
Engineer
