Hi Stephanie!
Cynthia Richmond

Hi Cynthia — you have latched onto an interesting topic, one covered to a limited degree in my book “Living Beyond: Making Sense of Near Death Experiences”. I was giving a talk recently at a writer’s conference in Australia on another topic, but asked if anyone had examples of the spirit leaving the body. A palliative nurse who had been present when many folk had died over a 30 year career said she had actually seen the spirt leave the body, on two occasions only. She then gave a description that has remained in my memory; when the spirit departed it rose quickly upwards, while the head fell backwards onto the bed at the same moment. I am not sure what this means about the body and the spirit, but I find it to be a thought-provoking description.
