NO AFTERLIFE EXPERIENCES KEPT SECRET PLEASE!!!!
This is Isobel and myself during an interview about her Near Death Experience (NDE). If you like, you can see a video of the interview at ivanrudolph.com. I thought of Isobel today when reading a “thank you” from Tricia Barker for the positive comment I passed on Tricia’s Medium article describing her own NDE — if you haven’t yet read her article, may I commend it to you. Her response to me included: “I am amazed when my story spreads some hope in this world. I knew I wasn’t meant to keep it to myself.” She is so right! People need to hear clearly what really happens at death, so that they know what to expect and fear of death can be quelled and vanquished. Only your body dies, your consciousness (spirit) continues in a series of adventures — as you can read about in my book “Living Beyond: Making Sense of Near Death Experiences”.
It is interesting how many people have an out-of-body experience (OBE) or near-death experience (NDE) and keep silent about it, even to their loved ones, as Isobel did. Isobel had her experience around 40 years ago, followed by her husband many years later — and Isobel discovered fairly recently that her sister has had an NDE too!!! Almost a family affair! She is looking forward now to spending time with her sister and comparing notes on the details of each NDE.
While there are commonalities in NDEs, the individual differences are fascinating because these give insights into how God deals with us as individuals and never as part of a job lot. I commend Tricia, Isobel and others for starting to speak out about their experiences because there are a lot of confused people out there who need to hear. Don’t be too pushy or fanatical, but look for opportunities to simply let people know what happened. You see, we are all going to go there, and to be forewarned is to be forearmed.
Some people you speak to may be dismissive. I remember Crystal McVea’s words, that she stopped telling others because “I could not bear another eye roll”, and because of this rejection “I allowed the most incredible thing that had ever happened to me to be locked away in secret”. She has since found “her voice”, in part by writing a very good book about her experiences titled “Waking Up in Heaven”.
So there you are, Medium writers who have had an NDE or who know others who have — perhaps your voice will also be found by writing down your experiences in Medium for us all to read!
