The 12 Hot New Tech Startups to Follow this Spring: NYU InnoVention Competition 2018 Cohort

We are absolutely psyched to announce the 12 Startups that will be going through the InnoVention Competition 2018 (IVC). They target issues in a wide range of fields including biotech, energy, FinTech, recycling and new media.

Just in case you don’t already know, IVC is a tech startup challenge where NYU-affiliated entrepreneurs from across the globe build a team, prototype products, and pitch commercially viable ventures to solve real-world problems. A unique mix of an accelerator and a competition, the challenge offers 12 student-led ventures workshops, coaching, community, perks, legal services and an opportunity to to win up to $50,000.

This year we received over 40 applications and here are some nifty stats & basic pitches on the 12 teams:

Brooklyn BioScience

Brooklyn BioScience is creating a low-cost and ecologically friendly enzyme for the remediation and detoxification of a class of common pesticides for farmers, vintners, and waste management companies. #Biotech #Chemical
