Held Hostage In Illinois: Memes Help Me Cope With Captivity

Hello Byran: I have been following this horror show from Las Cruces, NM for sometime and have a question that has yet to be answered to my satisfaction. Let me say in my ‘defense’ that I am not trying to be obtuse in my question or naive so here goes:: With as many students from your state, from other states in this country and from perhaps foreign countries across the world, how can the institutions of higher education in Illinois not receive the needed money to run their schools/programs? I have read about the ‘stand-off’ between the governor and legislature regarding this matter. Yet, it would seem that something ‘legal’ could be done to resolve the situation. It would seem as though and I know nothing about school law or higher educational administration, that someone some place would have the knowledge, expertise or insight to bring pressure upon those who are deliberately running this train wreck to end this carnage. When I think of the staff, faculty and the ‘blue collar workers’ of these schools who face an uncertain economic future as well as students who may have to leave a school as they are ready to graduate, complete law or medical school, this is completely beyond my realm of comprehension.

I’m sure I’m missing something. What is it?
