The idea of DNA activation has been around for a while now, but it hasn’t gone through a proper debunking. So what is it?

What is DNA Activation?

In 1972 a geneticist by the name of Susumu Ohno coined the term, “Junk DNA”. This was thought at the time to be a collection of mostly useless DNA. Various alternative health practitioners view this junk DNA as aspects of the human genome that hold special properties that require activating to gain their benefits. These proposed properties range anywhere from an improved mental state, improved healing ability, unlocking telepathic abilities and beyond.

How Do Alternative Health Practitioners Perform DNA Activation?

DNA activation is usually sold as a sort of energy, or frequency, mostly sound waves, as methods for activating DNA. Acupuncture, meditation, reiki, yoga, and chiropractic manipulation have all been proposed ways of activating DNA. Sol Luckman, creator of the, “Regenetics Method”, prefers the use of sound frequencies. Using a collection of songs, “vowel-based sounds”, and piano tuning forks, Sol charges over $200 for a 30 minute session and $195 to remotely listen to a, “Song of Distinction”. The page Science-based medicine has many articles debunking these sorts of treatments.

DNA Activation’s spiritual and religious ties.

As I mentioned before, Sol’s methods include the use of piano tuning forks. Alternaive health practitioner use what they call “the Solfeggio Scale” to heal the body. The Soleggio scale was first proposed by the book titled, “Healing Codes for the Biological Apocalypse”, where the authors claim that the Catholic church suppressed this healing method. Science-based medicine also has a good article on healing codes.

Religious themes are common with DNA activation. Citations from the books of the New Testament are regularly used as proof of DNA Activation. A google search of, “DNA activation in the bible” yields some interesting results.

Sol Luckman’s website gives a very telling reason for tight integration with religion. They use the freedoms of speech and religion as a sort of protection from legal ramifications.

“DISCLAIMER: The Developers and all Facilitators of the Regenetics Method offer DNA activation as educators and ordained ministers, not medical doctors, and do not purport to diagnose, prevent or treat illness of any kind. Regenetics Method information and sessions are offered, and accepted, as exercises of freedom of speech and religion. The Developers and Facilitators of the Regenetics Method make no recommendations, claims, promises or guarantees relative to specific health challenges. You are solely responsible for your own medical treatment and care.”

Is there any truth to this junk DNA?

The most dangerous aspect around the claims of DNA activation is that those who tout it’s benefits are actually fairly accurate on the topic of DNA. They tend to accurately describe the function of DNA and RNA. That is where it ends. Instead of discussing what we know about non-coding DNA, they simply state that the non-coding DNA is dormant code that just needs to be unlocked.

Today, we now know that non-coding DNA plays a big role in gene expression, the production of specialized RNA, and plays a role in evolution. While we are still trying to fully understand our genome, one thing is clear, there are no locked abilities that are waiting to be unlocked through vibration or other mystical means.
