Defining true originality of beauty, culture and the evolving fashion world has always been my dream as a child hence, the venturing into the modeling industry.

Meet Fiona Bungu!!! Our WcW for this week because she is just a gem!! Fiona Bungu is a Fiona’s story all began as an interest from watching beauty pageants on television. She mostly admired the pageants’ confidence and posture. One day, her younger sister showed her a post about a modeling agency in town but she was so adamant because she never saw herself as one. Rather, she did not believe she could exude the see confidence that those pageants had. However, she later found herself sitting in the offices and they were explaining in detail about the modeling industry. Just then, she realized just how much her heart was into modeling and decided to venture into commercial modeling. She took her first training by Zuri Agency; got her certificate and was officially labelled a model. At first, she was not confident in her abilities and used to compare herself with the gurus of the game until Miss Daline Masiiwa (Onesa the model) came into the picture and boosted her confidence. It was quite a bumpy road in the beginning with having to juggle between maintaining set standards by the agency (e.g. spending a full year with natural hair) and beating curfews. Nevertheless,it was an awakening call for her because that’s when she discovered the true originality of beauty which is to pride in her hair and skin tone.

Modeling helped in boosting her confidence levels , networking skills and even shaped her character for the better by respecting different cultures/ethnic groups and one’s views on life aspects as well as honoring one’s success. During this journey, she has learnt that talent gives one credit but character takes one far. The main reason she models is to encourage the girl child into loving herself despite the flaws society makes aware.

Sharing my views and confidence in skin tone helps to inspire the world that all it requires is to stand tall and claim what your heart desires. What I hope to achieve is to go international and become brand ambassador for various companies. My advice to the world would be: Never forget that you are beautiful. Be bold enough to look yourself in the mirror and say “This is my body and I love it just the way it is”. Remember ,it’s not what you wear or how you wear it; it’s about not letting what’s on your body affect your spirit. Above all do what makes you happy .

Fiona has been a commercial model for two years and nothing is stopping her. She continues to be an inspiration to young women in her community.
