The simplest tutorial to play Waves Ducks

Waves Ducks is an NFT-based game that combines DeFi and gaming mechanics which allows players (aka “duck hunters”) to earn EGGs on collecting and staking Duck NFTs.

First, you will need to get some EGGs and WAVES coins to buy ducks and pay blockchain fees. Learn more how to get WAVES at https://waves.tech/get-waves. Buy some EGGs at waves.exchange or swop.fi (there is much more liquidity at swop.fi, so i recommend it).

After that, you can immediately start playing: just log in at WavesDucks.com website using Email option.

Okey, now it’s time to get your first duck! There are two options to start collecting ducks:

• hatching a new one in incubator — this will cost you around 3.3 EGG (50 WAVES) and the each new duck in game is more expensive (the first ones coasted 1 EGG only)

• buying a duck on the marketplace from other players — you can get a pretty cool duck for 140–200 WAVES; to find a better one i recommend to use a setting “sort by: buyout price”

Pay attention to the breeding status of a duck: each NFT can have only one child during the game. So if you buy a “sterile” duck you won’t be able to breed it (but still be able to farm).

Breeding, in my opinion, is the funniest part of the game. You can chose any two non-sterile ducks from your farm and breed them.

As a result you will get the 3rd duck for free, while its parents will become sterile.

Usually the new-generation duck is much more exclusive and rare.

After some breeding operations you might get a cool collection. But this is not just a collection of NFTs, this is a source of your passive income!

You can use your Ducks to farm new EGGs on “My Farm” page.

To start earning EGGs you will need to buy a perch and put your duck on it. The EGG reward depends on the duck rarity, so my recommendation is to use ducks with higher rarity to farm. 100% rare duck will lay approximately 2 EGGs per month, which means an amazing APY.

It’s useful to spend a part of earned EGGs to produce new ducks and update your farm’s power to remain a well-payed farmer.
