According to Wiki, there is more than 100 000(!) crosses

Hill of Crosses — can be found just in a few hours by car from Vilnius.

We visited it a few weeks ago. I have heard about this place before, but when I saw it on my own it makes strange feelings. Now I will show you why:

The Pope was there twice. But this place still has no official church status, as I understood. It’s forbidden to take this crosses to the nearby cemetery.

Strange story behind those crosses. There is no ‘official’ info why and when it is begun. But this place was set on fire few times and all those crosses brought again by people.

Now it is an interesting place to visit. It feels like you staying on graveyard but there is no graves or any historical story behind this place.
