It is the basic network model of linking tv stations into one monolithic voice that gives that medium the power it enjoys. CBS pays it’s 300 or whatever local stations to air it’s news/public affairs shows. Of course they all take the money, their network agreement probably forces them to accept the news or lose the entertainment shows. These network news bureaus in Washington are then closely aligned to their establishment sources. How are we supposed to change that?
