I mean, it wouldn’t make sense to pay a restricted free agent materially more than the market dictates. I feel like this sort of tactic bugs the agent more so than the player, in a long-term sense.

Until a franchise actually loses out on signing marquee free agents because the owners refuse to pay restricted free agents well above market value, we should hesitate to question Dallas’ tactics.
