Thank you for your piece..it is a feminist issue..the gall for making this woman disrobe at the beach..

Western culture has no right to impose their views on Muslim women. I know many Muslim women who either choose to wear their hijab..

What some fail to realize is before western culture had a huge presence in Muslim countries, women were actually wearing western Victorian fashions…when western culture started their invasion, a warped version of Manifest Destiny…

It was only then the Muslim culture decided to forgo western fashions..

I am from another time and place, and the societal pressure to be naked at the beach is overwhelming…

But there will be those that will argue it’s a political issue..it is not…

This cartoon is very telling…western patriarchal culture wants women to cover their eyes in a metaphorical sense..

There was a time where women covered up, even to the point of wearing gloves and wearing scarves on their head..it was called being modest..

Hasidic Jewish women cover their heads with wigs when going out and they cover their arms and legs..

They honor the fact that they are not objects for the male gaze..

I respect that..
