Most of this piece seems solid to me, but I strongly disagree with “If there is any hint that your event might be controversial, do not move forward unless you are assured that your participants and attendees can be safe.” Activists oppose the notion that “one is responsible for one’s own safety at the hands of others” when that message is given in other forms, and it’s upsetting to see it here
