Building a startup? Build an audience, first.

Can’t agree more on this. I have two startups that I am managing — getting one traction on one of them (Textbook Ventures) is so much easier than the other one. With the same amount of effort (or less, to be honest), I feel like I am getting more “successes” just because I already had some sort of presence in that field. The other one, it’s a lot harder to gain traction, since it’s a completely new field to me.
