Stay Strong

In a recent post, I talked about having a firm foundation with Jesus. Today’s post will build off of it. Also, in the second paragraph I talk about my beliefs, by no means am I trying to start any arguments or offend anyone.

As people, we go through a lot of stuff in our lives; whether it is the sin we struggle with daily or other personal matters that we deal with. Often times I see people get so down when something doesn’t go their way, that they blame God and/or walk away from the faith. I really hate to see this happen. You must trust God in any and all situations, good or bad, that you experience; it may seem hard to do at first, but know that God always knows what is best for you and your life. He won’t put you through anything that you can’t handle yourself.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6

“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” — Jeremiah 29:11

Now coming from a more worldly view, Christians face many hardships in today’s society, from the “theory” of evolution debate to the attacks on our faith, and everything in-between. In my opinion, it seems that whenever a Christian says something about another religion or group, we get made out as the bad guys, yet if another group says something about Christians, they get praised as some sort of god. Even on the “theory” of evolution point, I put quotes around the theory part because in today’s education system, it almost seems like teachers are presenting evolution as something that is true, when in fact it is a “theory.” Me personally, I don’t believe in it.

“Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.” — 2 Timothy 2:16

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.” — Colossians 2:8

If you have a solid foundation in Christ, there is no need to worry about all of this useless chatter that is all over the place. The only thing we can do is to continue to spread the Gospel and pray that God will work in the hearts of those who need Him the most. Our God is for us, so no one can be against us!

“Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm…” — 2 Timothy 2:19

“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.” — 2 Timothy 4:2

Hey God,

I pray for all those who are going through things that they would rather not have on their plate. I pray for the forgiveness of sins and for you to show your will for our lives. I pray that all of this useless chatter that we hear day-in and day-out, will become afterthoughts because we know that the truth comes from you and only you.

Amen
