blazing blood pumping through these interior highways

my veins, remaining strong despite the hurricanes

lit from heat gathered from my brain

whose sole purpose is to be in charge

hunt the consciousness for common sense

and find insatiable thoughts to be discarded

but I guess there’s one thing that’s usually forgotten

stealing the thunder and appointing itself as the chief

of all things from dreams to foolish moments of make believe

sending bolts of lightning

as it pumps bloods a blazing

passing through these veins

and back again

withstanding natural disasters

and no matter how much wreckage they inflict

it retains its power

my heart

the inevitable master.
