I think suggesting people’s heads should be bashed in is psychotic, even if you’re “just venting your rage.” Rage is usually rooted in one’s past, and I suspect yours runs deeper than you might be willing to admit.
When more than half the country lives in poverty, and 8 people own as much wealth as the bottom half of the entire world’s population, calling out a corporate Democrat like Cory Booker for voting down an amendment is not nihilistic purity. And it’s not going to kill you.
How uncomfortable are you? Maybe if the time comes when the place you call home is at stake and you are choosing between shelter and necessary medication, you’ll understand why some people are no longer accepting excuses for voting against something that would help them, while simultaneously accepting money from that same industry.
If you and others who share your views want to “protect” politicians like Cory Booker, you might want to settle in for 8 years of Donald Trump. Don’t believe me? That’s your prerogative.
I believe all of your rage, name-calling, shaming, scolding, arguing, ridiculing, suggesting progressives don’t know what the word “neoliberal” means or how to use it, and all of your anger toward and your being “sick of” people who are calling out Cory Booker & Dems like him— none of it will matter. You won’t stop it from happening, you won’t help those struggling to pay their bills and stay in their homes, and you won’t help Cory Booker become the next president.
