Hey Ryan,

Thanks for your comment. At a high level, the comment was a generalisation — of course there are centralised crypto projects, and further there are many centralised projects which claim they are decentralised.

Our investment thesis is available on the site already: 30% major coins — the long holds we believe already have value (I would not include a centralised project like EOS in this batch for example), 20% and 30% ICOs and long hold Altcoins, and 20% stablecoins / cash / hedging tools.

For the Every Crypto Fund, most of the information we use when making an investment relates to returns for our investors. We have two priorities right now: 1) making cryptoassets an accessible investment for every Australian, and 2) proving the feasibility of an investment fund that achieves #1.

That said, our team has been into crypto from early days. The projects that interest us are those bringing genuine change to industries and systems. And those are the ones we are more likely to evaluate.

On the other side, most crypto projects worth backing are doing this because they’re working with blockchain tech and doing a good job of it — there are no set-in-stone best practices yet, just iterative improvements. If a project doesn’t make good use of a blockchain or (gasp!) doesn’t actually need one, or is heavily centralised, it won’t score well on the systems we use to make our investments.

If we succeed in the two points above, most likely you will see some other initiatives pop up. We have a lot of ideas here — focusing on worthwhile Australian blockchain projects which need a kickstart, or backing some of the more altruistic projects which are around (no reason why there can’t be a crypto alternative to ‘Ethical Super’ and similar funds).

In the meantime, I hope you follow the launch of the fund and that I can give you a more comprehensive answer to this in a year’s time when we have some quarters behind us.

Cheers!
