Dirk Nowitzki, the forward on the Dallas Mavericks became just the sixth player to join the 30,000 career points club on Tuesday night. The 30,000 points club is one of the most exclusive statistics in the game of basketball. Those in the club are among the games best. In order to achieve this greatness, consistency and durability is needed. Dirk is ending his 19th career year with a bang, performing with high numbers.

Throughout his 19 seasons with the Mavericks, Dirk has been a model player and terrific spokesperson for the game. This latest accomplishment further establishes his legacy as one of the NBA’s greatest players. Dirk is also undoubtedly the best European player to play in the NBA. He has been the face of the mavs franchise for years and has brought them a championship. Dirk has even turned back time in the recent years, competing with the consistency of his old self. Tuesday night, Nowitzki turned back the clock and looked like a 28-year-old version of himself against the young Lakers.

Dirk has cemented his name in NBA history and his legacy will never be forgotten. The future hall of famer has one more stat to add to his accolades.

Thirty-thousand points. One tremendous legacy.
