I’m surprised to hear you think it wasn’t expensive! I’ve spent a significant amount of time in Australia, and it is expensive as sin (and I say this as a New Yorker.)

Were you actively leading a scrimping/backpacker type lifestyle? I wonder how it would mete out if you were renting an apartment, etc. If you do, keep us posted (And you should! What a wonderful opportunity)
