Lovely post. I also have relatives whose fates are largely unknown due to the Holocaust. Both of my parents’ families were decimated in Europe and I have very little information about any of them. Some scattered all over the world and others died in camps. I always remind myself that I would not exist if it weren’t for the Holocaust since my parents met in NYC years after their parents had taken them away from their respective homelands to make a new life in the US. I have two children and now they are having children . In this way we honor the memory of those who perished .
