How Do You Hold A Moonbeam in Your Hand?

#misfitcon 2015

Every year, I sit with the impossible task of explaining the inexplicable. To call Misfit Con a conference is to grossly distort the truth; to attempt to call it anything else simply leaves me breathlessly inarticulate.

I want to cry.

Misfit Con is a gathering of like-minded superhero ninja magician freaks, some of whom successfully manage to appear human. Misfit Con year one, in 2013, collected together a tiny, extraordinary group of strangers from around the globe. By year two, we were family, and the new attendees were like cousins we just hadn’t met yet.

This year, well. This year we were like a family full of rock stars and genius rocket scientists that had madly prospered and spawned some very strange offspring.

We were together to celebrate, and did we ever. We partied. Hard. We wept, we danced, we drank, we sang, we cursed, we prayed, we wandered around dazed, we took selfies on buses, we mixed brilliant minds with wickedly genius deeds, and we established beyond a doubt that there is hope for humanity.

That’s the long and the short of it.
