The Power of Finishing Things

There are many reasons why we don’t finish things.

We worry what people will think. We worry we don’t have the relevant experience to do it. We worry that it’s not perfect.

We hold ourselves back and we stop ourselves finishing things.

That painting, poem, song, book, blog, work project, business idea or career plan. All unfinished and unshared.

The worry makes us miss the wider point; that we learn by doing. Although the finished product might not be perfect, you will learn from it and you will get better next time.

That’s the power of finishing things.

Ask yourself these two questions:

  • What could you finish that will enhance your work, give you more recognition, feed your creative urge or even make you happier?
  • What’s the next step you need to take complete it?

Businesses, communities, friends and families all need people who finish things.

Start it, finish it and move forward.
