The River Flowed Out of Eden Watering the Garden

I always thought the language of this verse was a bit odd.

Shouldn’t the river flow IN to Eden to water the garden?

Well, not in God’s world.

Often we think that it’s the things flowing into us that give us life. We are constantly thinking about our needs and looking for external fulfillment.

But the river didn’t flow into Eden; it flowed out of Eden, and so the garden was kept beautiful and alive.

In Christ we have a well springing up from within. He is our fulfillment and our life.

No longer do we look to external sources, but simply let the life that is within flow out of us.

This river waters our hearts and then flows out to a dry and thirsty world.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
