Nothing of value so far. They “modernized” the front page in a way that made it less useful to a lot of long time users, and they created a “members only content” section that, so far, has focused primarily on the kind of content I studiously avoided before the launch of membership (self help listicles and the like). They have since rolled the new front page out to all users (no longer just paid members), so really the only difference now between a paid member and a free user is the members only section, the green circle, and a weekly email newsletter. For $60 a year (which is the same price as a digital subscription to The New Yorker, something to think about). Which raises the rational question, “Why am I still paying?” Mostly because I’m patient and still consider myself to be in the “evidence gathering stage.” Its cheap enough right now that I’m taking my time to mull it over…
