My wife and I discovered Arcimboldo last year when four enormous fiberglass sculptures by the artist Philip Haas, giant three dimensional recreations of Arcimboldo’s “The Four Seasons,” came to the Crystal Bridges art museum in Bentonville, Arkansas. Arcimboldo’s many paintings in this style are doubly amazing for having been created in the 16th Century. What a visionary.
