This is a wonderful poem, Lynette. It works on so many levels. My favorite line:

Hear the squelchy humor of the ducks

busy beaking the buttery mud

That is so great, the image and the alliteration together. Wow.The whole poem is full of strong imagery working together to make a very gentle point. I love this.
