If the point of campaign coverage as you say is more for building up news organizations than it is for informing voters, how can we change that? As journalists, isn’t our entire objective about informing the public? How could I, a new-to-the-field professional writer in the making, make campaign coverage more about voters?
There’s got to be some way to reconcile these two disconnected motives.
