You have a point, there definitely needs to be a way to hold information between components. React does this nicely with parent states as well as built in providers.

The point I make is that Redux (a single object at the top of the app) is the problem. Not that smaller sub-states are. Sure things like redux-form are very popular but I recently moved to formik which is not attached to redux and have loved it so far. Knowing that something will work without it messing with the entire app’s state is so clean and easy.

By forcing yourself out of a Redux architecture, you begin to enjoy coding again. It shouldn’t be so hard. However, there will always be exceptions to the rule in which Redux may be a better fit. It depends on the situation.
