Appreciate the response, and whilst I think it’s ultimately something upon which we’ll continue to disagree, I can very much understand your view on things!

You may well be right re: a Blair-esque climax for Macron, too.

In terms of your question about the People’s Vote idea — talking broad strokes, I wasn’t particularly fond of the idea a year or so ago. I was of the opinion we should either aim for the softest possible Brexit, or bin off the entire thing without another vote — rescind Article 50 and be done with it.

Now, with everything that’s gone on in the last year, I can’t see anyway out other than a People’s vote. The claims about it being undemocratic don’t hold water when you consider just how much more we now know.

Overall, I’m extremely anti-Brexit, and so whatever could possibly prevent what I see as one of the most self-destructive paths a country has ever taken, I think ought to be considered.
