Apple’s iPhone is arguably the biggest smartphone brand in the world. The success of these smartphones is attributed to their fine build quality of these phones, especially when it comes to the software and its features.

Despite this, the iPhone is prone to some common problems. One of them is when the opening screen that displays Apple’s logo freezes. Although it’s rare in newer models, like the iPhone 12, 13, and 14, it’s quite common in the older ones. If you’re having the same problem, here’s what you can do to get your iPhone working again.

Restarting Your iPhone

Simply restarting your iPhone can help in some cases.

For iPhone X and Later Models

1. Press the volume down button with the power button for approximately 5 seconds.

2. The iPhone will give you multiple options, including a slide to power off. Slide the power off button to turn it off.

3. After the phone has been switched off, press the power button only, and your iPhone will restart.

For Older iPhone Models

For older iPhone models, like the iPhone 8, 7, or earlier, you just need to press the power button, and the iPhone will give the power off slide bar. Repeat a similar procedure to restart the phone.

Force Restart Your iPhone

If your iPhone is stuck and isn’t responding, you’ll need to force restart it.

iPhone X and Later Models

Previously, iPhones were forced to restart with the help of the home button. However, models like iPhone X and later have no home button. If you want to force restart your phone:

1. Press and let go of the volume up button

2. Then press and let go of the volume down button

3. Now press the power button and hold it for approximately 5 seconds. The power off slider will also appear on the screen before it forces restarts. You’ll need to ignore that slider.

For Older iPhone Models

For older iPhone models like the iPhone 8, 7, or earlier, you must hold the power and home buttons simultaneously until the phone restarts. The power off slider will also appear, and you need to ignore it and let the phone force restart.
