I believe that experiences are created, not assembled

Every business problem is different. Maybe not entirely different, but different all the same. Good design is finding a way to solve a problem.

The answer to every math problem isn’t 7. You can’t fix everything with a hammer. There is more than one shoe size.

Business requirements, software tools, and technology are ingredients, but you can’t just follow a recipe, you need to create the recipe.

Here is a recipe for pancakes. It will help you make really good pancakes, but it can’t help you make chicken vindaloo.

Pancake Recipe*:

  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 3.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • chocolate chips (optional, but not really)
  1. Heat griddle to medium
  2. Sift together dry ingredients
  3. Mix together wet ingredients
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry
  5. Cook
  6. Serve
  7. Eat

*Note: Do not use for making chicken vidaloo!
