Just heard that Jewel song You were meant for me for the first time in years. Remember that one? Jewel came through with some sweet hits in the 90s.

I saw a video one time where they put Jewel in a disguise and sent her to this karaoke bar pretending to be someone else. She plays it shy at first but eventually some people encourage her to go sing. Of course she sings a Jewel song and everyone goes crazy. Afterwards people in the crowd proclaim that the Karaoke girl sounds even better than the real Jewel.

This morning on my way to work a felt a sense of excitement in the air. People I walked past looked so ready to take on the week. It was also quite lovely outside this morning. Weather wise and otherwise.

You know those days where you are working on a lot of totally unrelated things at the same time? I think that happens on a lot of Mondays for me. By the end of the day I felt like I had screwed my head back on pretty good ; )

A cool breeze seemed to take hold of the city in the last hours before sunset. I biked over the Brooklyn Bridge around 8 and the entire sky was a light shade of pink. The tops of the skyscrapers popped in the summer evening light. The ride across the bridge warmed me right back up.

I think I’m going to have pizza for dinner.
