Fairy of the Night

Smoke and fog
Mist and phantoms
Mysterious night
Riveting sensation
Filled with all the wonders of imagination
Who comes to life under the watchful eye
Of the moon’s enchanting light
One fairy maiden whispers to me
From behind an old oak tree
Her wing is broken
Yet she knows how to fly
She moves like youth
Green and new
Her body all-aglow
Resplendent and sparkling
Like the morning dew
Who can say what wisdom her spirit knows?
She may lead me to everlasting bliss
Or deliver the stroke of my mortal death
Weak man that I am
I must follow her call
I need absorb the song she sings
That leads me to her fiery ring
