HarmonQuest season 2 premiere date pushed back
Edit August 9, 2017: With the recent announcement of Seeso ending its service by the end of the year the reason for Harmonquest’s delay are now apparent. Harmonquest has already found a new home at VRV and the second season will premiere there on September 15.
Harmonquest is an original series for the NBCUniversal-owned streaming platform SeeSo, which exclusively caters in comedy. The series was created by Dan Harmon (Community, Rick and Morty, Monster House) and involves Harmon, his friends Erin McGathy and Jeff B. Davis, and a celebrity guest star as they set out on an epic table-top roleplaying adventure Gamemastered by Spencer Crittenden, who also acts as show-runner.
This series is one I am very fond of and I have been eagerly awaiting its return, which had been last stated to be scheduled to be released tomorrow. On a lark I decided to Tweet out Harmonquest Twitter page regarding the particulars of this. The full correspondence is below:
Not long after a Tweet was broadcast to the larger world stating more or less the same. What’s odd to me isn’t that HarmonQuest was pushed back it’s that the announcement was so sudden, within hours of the previously announced premiere date. Also that the announced was seems to have been largely based on my own Tweet directed at them. Looking back at HarmonQuest’s Twitter feed there are signs that something isn’t in line with meeting their previous expected date. The page has been silent for a month and a half which is odd, especially for a show that last we’d heard was supposed to premiere tomorrow.
I don’t want to speculate as to why it was pushed back. Whatever the reasons behind both the pushing back of the release date and the until now silence on this I hope they are resolved quickly and I wish the production team best of luck in the future. Until then fans of Dan Harmon can still look forward to the return of Rick & Morty, which will be returning for its third season this Sunday night 11:30 EST.
