I can’t argue with this list, its 100% accurate. There are no other artists right now who could break these sales or records, but who knows what the future holds for some of the up and comers in the game right now. Personally, the one I have a hardest time with on this list is Drake. I know, “but he’s done this and that, and he’s sold (X) number of albums, he’s always on the radio.” But it just isn’t the Drake I like the best. Give me that So Far Gone, Thank Me Later, and Take Care Drake. Where he still had hits, but he actually rapped on them, not radio chasing rap. Headlines, Over, Best I Ever Had, all of these were great songs that hit the billboard charts heavy but still had a less pop feel to them. Now every time Drake releases anything it will always hit the charts, but it will also be way too over-played, and on the radio 24/7. So, in my eyes he has dropped a little bit in the game, not necessarily in numbers and charts and all that, but in my personal opinion. I would trade the radio chasing God’s Plan Drake for the Thank Me Later Drake any day. As far as all the other artists, they’re all pretty much at the top of their game right now. The only argument could maybe be J. Cole and his 2014 Forest Hills Drive album, but that is one of the best albums ever made so I don’t think many people expected him to beat it. KOD is still amazing though.
